Werewolves will now occasionally kick the player across the screen! Dealing less damage but more knockback than their regular attack. Werewolves and other enemies will also get alternative animations as we truck along with development. There is now a 50% chance of getting a new animation when stunned by an enemy hornet! You can tell which animation you get based on the way the player falls over, either belly down or belly up. Winning champions will be rewarded a chest drop with a special powerup before advancing to the next level!Īll enemies, items, upgrades and objectives now appear on our minimap, complete with their own big flashy icons to give you the info you need from a glance! We hope this makes the hunt for the last remaining enemies during arena brawls that much easier. We have raised the stakes with this new update, as each level now ends in a climactic battle to protect your butt! 3 dynamic waves of enemies will spawn, increasing in difficulty as you go. Brand new platforms, and hazards have been added to the game such as explosive crates and slippery barrels you can roll into your enemies! Background elements have been color graded and so that they no longer compete for attention with the action taking place in the foreground. Several art assets for our jungle level have been updated or remade from scratch to bring the quality up to par with our new streets stage release. The daytime theme can be played by progressing to the end! This new night theme is now the default first stage from the character select. It's very exciting to bring this design back after a long wait, as this setting holds major relevance in the upcoming BBS comic pages! Long-term fans of our work may remember the original BBS prototype way back in 2015 which had a stage that looks much closer to this than the other new levels we have been creating. Each stage consists of 5 modular rooms, each with their own layouts and challenges. There is a reason why games like Turtles in Time, Streets of Rage, and Double Dragon are still enjoyed to this day, they play great.Fans of the original BBS prototype demo will enjoy this update! Our stage design has had a major makeover, ditching the maze levels and bringing back a more linear platforming experience. The thing is the most important thing about a game of this style is the way it plays. Look, I love beat-em-ups and I think that Bare Backstreets has some great ideas and it is still being worked on as I write this. The sex in the game happens actually in-game you can get banged or bang a monster. There is a decent variety to the levels too ranging from a nice park to a dark and scary woodland area. The game has a very “flash game” kind of look to it and I think that the nice and bright colors of it all look good. The game is still being worked on so there is a bit of repetition to the enemy designs, but to be fair games like Double Dragon and Final Fight use the same enemies over and over again, and no one ever complains about that. I think that most of the work clearly went into the various playable characters and enemy designs as these all look great. There are other characters you can play as, but you will need to support the game on Patreon to play as them. The main male character we play as called Vergence is a green raptor, but the female character we can play as is called Genesis and she certainly has that “furrier” look to her. I can kind of see why if I am being honest. I have heard some people say that Bare Backstreets is a game that is aimed at furries. The story made no sense whatsoever to me, but at least they tried. From what I gather the main character in the game is a raptor-looking dude called, Vergence, who is on a losing streak with the ladies, and the events that are going down could be just what he needs to get his sex life back on track.
